According to UNICEF, approximately 64,000 children have been killed or injured in Gaza since the conflict began in October 2023. The humanitarian situation remains dire, with children bearing significant trauma and loss.
Maram Ahmed, a 14-year-old, observed her second Mother’s Day without her mother, who was lost in an airstrike. Despite financial challenges, she used to purchase small gifts for her mother to bring her joy.

Amnesty International released a report detailing the severe impact of the conflict on women and girls in Gaza. The report highlights mass displacement, the collapse of healthcare services, and unsafe living conditions, which exacerbate physical and mental health challenges for women.
Since a ceasefire was declared in October 2025, over 650 Palestinians have died due to continued hostilities, according to the Ministry of Health. The ongoing conflict has resulted in over 72,000 fatalities since its inception.
