This movement is primarily due to Israeli air strikes following rocket launches by Hezbollah.
Current data indicates that approximately 132,000 displaced persons are housed in collective shelters such as stadiums and schools in Beirut. The remaining population is distributed across various locations, including staying with relatives, residing in incomplete buildings, or living with host communities. A significant number are also without permanent shelter, residing on streets.
The United Nations has initiated a $308 million emergency appeal to address the humanitarian needs arising from the conflict. This initiative aims to provide critical support to those affected by the ongoing hostilities.
