On Sun, the Iranian government confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei following joint U.S.-Israeli attacks conducted on Sat. In response, a 40-day mourning period has been declared by the authorities.

The strike also resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking officials, including:

In retaliation, Iran executed missile and drone strikes targeting both Israeli and U.S. bases throughout the region. The initial joint attacks were launched on Tehran and other cities such as Tabriz, Qom, Isfahan, Kermanshah, and Karaj.
