Israeli military operations have resulted in the deaths of at least 12 individuals in eastern and southern Lebanon, marking a violation of the 2024 ceasefire agreement with the armed group, Hezbollah. According to Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA), air strikes in the Bekaa Valley have led to at least six fatalities and more than 25 injuries, with victims receiving medical attention across regional hospitals.
The initial reports from NNA were later updated, indicating that the death toll had risen to "more than 10" with at least 30 individuals wounded due to an attack on a building in Riyaq, Bekaa governorate. Search operations for potential survivors are ongoing at the site.
According to the Israeli army, the strikes targeted "Hezbollah command centres" in the Baalbek area. A Hezbollah source confirmed that a military leader was among those killed. Additionally, an Israeli operation in the Ein el-Hilweh refugee camp resulted in two fatalities. This camp, the largest Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon, is located near the southern city of Sidon.
