Recent investigations have revealed the involvement of the Israeli government in the installation of security equipment and access control at a Manhattan apartment building managed by Jeffrey Epstein. This operation was detailed in a report based on emails released by the United States Department of Justice.
The report highlights how Israeli officials coordinated with Epstein’s staff beginning in early 2016 to secure a residence located at 301 East 66th Street. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak utilized the apartment for extended stays. Rafi Shlomo, the former director of protective services at the Israeli mission, managed access to the apartment and coordinated security measures with Epstein's employees.
Structural modifications required approval from Epstein. In January 2016, Barak’s wife, Nili Priell, discussed the installation of alarms and surveillance tools with Epstein’s assistant, Lesley Groff. This system included window sensors and remote access capabilities.
Groff confirmed that Epstein personally authorized these alterations, indicating that he had no objections to the modifications.

Yoni Koren, an aide to Barak, frequently utilized the apartment for various stays, including during his tenure at the Israeli Ministry of Defence.
The released documents have highlighted Epstein's financial connections to Israeli groups, including Friends of the Israeli Army and the Jewish National Fund, as well as his ties to Mossad, Israel’s foreign intelligence agency. Despite Epstein's 2008 conviction, Barak continued his association with him, claiming ignorance of the full extent of Epstein’s criminal activities until 2019.
