Ehud Barak's Statement on Epstein Association
Ehud Barak, who served as the Prime Minister of Israel from 1999 to 2001, has addressed his past association with Jeffrey Epstein. Barak expressed regret for maintaining a relationship with Epstein following the latter’s 2008 conviction for procuring a minor for prostitution. Barak stated he was unaware of the full extent of Epstein's criminal activities until the investigation in 2019.
Barak acknowledged staying at Epstein’s Manhattan residence and visiting his island in the US Virgin Islands. He emphasized that during his visit, he was accompanied by his wife and security personnel, and observed nothing unusual. Despite Epstein's criminal history, Barak noted that Epstein was regarded as having been reintroduced to public life after serving his sentence.
