As Rafah crossing reopens, Palestinians wait to be reunited with relatives

The Rafah border crossing reopened on Mon, providing a critical passage for Palestinians in Gaza. This development is part of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. Approximately 20,000 Palestinian children and adults requiring medical care are awaiting departure from Gaza, according to local health officials. The limited reopening of the border has left many individuals, like Iman Rashwan and Ayman Hamto, waiting at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis for the arrival of family members. Rashwan expressed hope for a broader opening to benefit those needing medical treatment and students wishing to study abroad. Hamto shared similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of reuniting families and allowing the sick to receive necessary care.
