Doctors Without Borders, also known as MSF, has announced that it will provide Israeli authorities with the personal details of some of its Palestinian and international staff operating in Gaza and other occupied territories. This decision follows Israel's demand for detailed information from aid groups to continue their operations.

On January 1, Israel revoked the licenses of 37 aid organizations, including MSF, due to non-compliance with new security and transparency standards. The requirements necessitate sharing comprehensive information about employees, funding, and operations. Non-compliance may result in suspension of activities.

The policy aims to exclude organizations suspected of inciting racism or supporting hostile activities against the State of Israel.

MSF has agreed to share a defined list of staff names with Israeli authorities, a decision made after discussions with its Palestinian employees. This measure is intended to allow the continuation of critical medical care services in Gaza and the West Bank. MSF emphasizes that the sharing of information is subject to strict parameters prioritizing staff safety.

Since January 1, 2026, MSF reports that international staff entries into Gaza have been denied, and supply shipments have been blocked.

Despite Israel's commitment to allow 600 aid trucks per day into Gaza, local reports indicate that only about 200 trucks are being permitted entry. This shortfall exacerbates ongoing humanitarian challenges, including food shortages and healthcare crises.

Israel states that 23 organizations have agreed to the new registration rules, while others are still considering their positions.
