On Wed, Jan 21, 2026, the Israeli military conducted airstrikes on four crossing points along the Syria-Lebanon border. These sites were reportedly used for the smuggling of weapons by Hezbollah. This action follows earlier Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon, resulting in two fatalities and approximately 19 injuries.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that the town of Qanarit, located in southern Lebanon, was among the affected areas, with at least 19 people injured. Additional strikes were reported in the towns of al-Kharayeb, al-Ansar, Kfour, and Jarjouh. The state-run National News Agency noted that buildings in these areas were targeted following warnings from the Israeli army.
In a separate incident, the Lebanese Health Ministry reported the death of one individual due to an Israeli strike on a vehicle in Zahrani, located in the Sidon district. Another person was killed in a similar strike in Bazuriyeh, within the Tyre district.
