Ceasefire Announcement in Aleppo Amid Recent Clashes
Following three days of conflict between government forces and Kurdish fighters in Aleppo, a ceasefire has been declared by Syria’s Defense Ministry. The recent fighting displaced tens of thousands of residents, causing significant disruption in the area.
The ministry's statement outlined a six-hour period for armed groups to vacate several neighborhoods, including Sheikh Maqsoud and Achrafieh. Despite the announcement, no immediate withdrawal of fighters was observed.
Residents of Aleppo have been significantly affected by the recent violence. Many, like Ahmed Hajjar, express cautious optimism about the ceasefire. "The ceasefire is a good step," Hajjar stated, highlighting the difficulties faced due to restricted movement and the presence of checkpoints, which hinder business operations.

The clashes began on Tuesday, involving shelling and drone strikes, and were linked to stalled political negotiations between the central government and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
