Abdullah Nattat, a former singer and performer, now uses a wheelchair after losing both legs due to military action in Gaza. His life changed in September during an Israeli military ground operation when an airstrike in central Gaza City resulted in severe injuries.
While Abdullah was returning from the market, an airstrike occurred, resulting in significant leg injuries. Both legs were later amputated above the knee. Abdullah's friend suffered similar injuries.
Abdullah is not alone in his suffering. His cousin, Diaa Abu Nahl, also experienced a devastating loss. In July, a direct strike on their family home resulted in the death of Diaa's wife and two daughters. Diaa's injuries led to the amputation of his right leg, while the other leg requires further medical intervention.

Both Abdullah and Diaa are undergoing physiotherapy at a Gaza Municipality medical center. They require prosthetic limbs and comprehensive rehabilitation, which are currently unavailable in Gaza. The Ministry of Health has reported approximately 6,000 limb amputations since the conflict began in October 2023, with significant needs for rehabilitation and advanced prosthetics.
Abdullah and Diaa hope to receive treatment abroad to be fitted with prosthetic limbs. They express aspirations for a future where they can regain mobility and improve their quality of life.
