The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, has confirmed the deaths of key figures, including its spokesperson Abu Obeida and former leader Mohammed Sinwar, during recent conflicts with Israel. This announcement was made in a video statement released on Mon, Dec 29, 2025.
The new spokesperson for al-Qassam Brigades disclosed Abu Obeida's real identity as Hudhayfah Samir Abdullah al-Kahlout. The statement expressed pride in his leadership and confirmed the continuation of his legacy.
The Qassam Brigades also confirmed the deaths of several other high-ranking commanders, such as Mohammed Shabanah, Hakam al-Issa, and Raed Saad. These individuals were crucial to the group's operations in Gaza.
