British authorities have detained a Swedish activist and two others during a protest in central London. The event was organized in support of Palestine, outside Aspen Insurance's offices in the financial district, due to its association with Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems.

The City of London Police confirmed the arrest of a 22-year-old woman for displaying a placard supporting Palestine Action, a group proscribed under the Terrorism Act 2000. This organization has been labeled a "terrorist organization" by the UK government.

The protest aimed to highlight Aspen Insurance's alleged involvement in actions against Palestinian interests and express solidarity with prisoners linked to Palestine Action who are currently on hunger strike in British prisons.

In addition to the primary arrest, two other individuals were apprehended for causing damage to a building on Fenchurch Street, where Aspen Insurance is located. They reportedly used hammers and red paint during the protest.

According to a statement from Defend Our Juries, the activists utilized re-purposed fire extinguishers to spray symbolic blood-red paint on the building before affixing themselves to its front, aiming to disrupt business operations and highlight their cause.

Aspen Insurance was targeted due to its association with Elbit Systems UK, a subsidiary of Israel's largest arms producer. The protest follows previous actions by Palestine Action against Elbit Systems UK operations in Bristol.

Defend Our Juries has criticized Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Secretary David Lammy for not engaging with legal representatives of the hunger strikers. The group continues to demand the closure of Elbit Systems' UK facilities.
