On Sat, Dec 21, 2025, two Palestinians were fatally shot by Israeli forces in the Jenin governorate of the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Rayyan Abdel Qader, 16, was shot in Qabatiya, and Ahmad Zayoud, 22, was killed in Silat al-Harithiya.
According to reports, Abdel Qader was shot at close range, and emergency crews were reportedly blocked from reaching him. Zayoud died from a gunshot wound to the chest, and a 15-year-old boy was injured in the incident.
The Israeli military reported that the individuals were shot after allegedly attacking their forces with a block and an explosive. No Israeli troops sustained injuries during these incidents.
The fatalities have increased the death toll in the West Bank to 1,101, including 229 children, since Oct 7, 2023. During the same period, nearly 21,000 Palestinians have been detained, with 9,300 currently in custody, many without charges.
These events occur amidst ongoing tensions in Gaza, with rights organizations and international bodies raising concerns over actions perceived as violations of international laws.
