Montreal, Canada – Israeli authorities have denied entry to a delegation of Canadian parliamentarians attempting to visit the West Bank for discussions with Palestinian officials and human rights advocates. The National Council of Canadian Muslims (NCCM) reported the incident.
Six members of Canada's Parliament were halted by Israeli authorities while trying to enter the West Bank from Jordan, according to a statement by NCCM on Tue, Dec 16, 2025. The delegation was part of a trip organized by The Canadian Muslim Vote, a nonprofit organization.
The NCCM stated that the delegation, which included Canadian community leaders, had received electronic travel authorizations but were barred as "public safety threats." The statement expressed concern over this decision, noting it aligns with a pattern of restricted access to the occupied territories.
Neither the Israeli Ministries of Interior and Foreign Affairs nor the Canadian Global Affairs ministry provided comments when approached. Israel controls all crossings into the West Bank and often denies entry to individuals perceived as critical of its policies.
