The World Health Organization has reported that 400 individuals have succumbed to malnutrition in Gaza this year. This includes 101 children, with 80 under the age of five.
Dr. Rana Abu Zaatir, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Nutrition at Al-Awda Hospital, noted an increase in malnutrition cases. The hospital has received patients from the southern Gaza Strip, including severe cases in children aged five to twelve, and recently, infants aged two to six months.
Gaza currently operates only four malnutrition stabilization centers. Northern Gaza has experienced significant disruptions in food aid, resulting in critical shortages of therapeutic foods.

On Monday, the World Food Program (WFP) indicated that humanitarian access is improving in Gaza but emphasized the need for restored access to the north. The WFP also called for a ceasefire to facilitate the distribution of food aid to the most vulnerable populations.
According to United Nations-backed experts, approximately 500,000 individuals in the Gaza City area are currently classified as being in famine conditions.
